✧ First Impressions

Ovida has several inhuman features: curled white rams' horns on her head (close inspection will reveal them to be carved white marble that is nevertheless apparently physically attached to her); a long white tail with a feathery tuft (unicorn vibes); and legs that end in white, deer-like cloven hooves, tufted with a bit of fluffy white fur (...unicorn vibes again). A thin layer of moss grows on her horns and shoulders.

Looking into her eyes—which are strongly angled and almost cat-like in shape—is slightly uncanny, as they don't reflect light normally, or even have proper pupils. Instead, they seem to almost be windows to some kind of verdant forest grotto.

Ovida also has two alternate forms: a white doe (often but not always with a unicorn-like mane and tail, as well as her two curled horns), and also straight-up just a large colony of moss.

In human form, her build is very pear-shaped, and her voice is generally airy and fluting. Her hair is very long (about calf-length), with a very fine and slightly fluffy texture. Also, her entirely dream-crafted body notwithstanding, she's trans in a roundabout esoteric but also literal way.

Ovida is a dream-creature and what in her setting is known as a "true god." She is literally Emptiness, Dream, and Longing, as well as part of the metaphysical structure that makes up the boundary between the real and the unreal. She's the substance of the despair in your heart; the emptiness you drown in and the starry tide that rises. (hi I wrote that phrasing for her app then forgot to actually use it. please clap.)

She's also... stupid. Despite her primordial nature, her conscious self is very new, prone to strange perspectives and questionable (if perfectly sensible from her perspective) logic. Sometimes I portray her with a heart-shaped ahoge.

Because she exists always at least partway in dream (...and is also. literally Dreams.), Ovida tends to spend a lot of time visiting other characters' dreams. Normally she can freely shape dreams (though generally does not), as well as use them as kind of stepping stones to travel via dreamers. [ PERMISSION/OPT-OUT POST LINK WILL GO HERE ]

Finally, Ovida is something of a... "being hunted and eaten as a cute date idea" hobbyist. Though in Pyrite she'll be limited to that kind of activity only in dreams, it may come up both as casual reference and as a kind of flirtation, particularly if she's especially enamored of someone.
